While in school, Deepika went for training in classical dance form Bharat Natyam. Her hobbies include Music, eating, sleeping and watching movies. Her favorite actors are Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan and her favorite actresses include Rani Mukherji, Preity Zinta and Sushmita Sen. The first time she appeared on ramp, she was just seventeen. In the year 2005 Kingfisher Fashion Awards named Deepika Padukone Model of the Year. In the year 2006 Idea Zee Award ceremonies, Deepika Padukone won accolades in the categories of Female Model of the Year and Fresh Face of the Year. In the same year she made her debut in the films with a Kannada film named Aishwarya.
